Quality Systems Executive Director

  • Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology or related field and eligible for registration with the ASCP required, but a Master’s is strongly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:
This position with the assistance of the Quality Operations Manager, Non-Conforming Events Manager and Quality Management Staff is responsible for ensuring that OBI’s quality assurance unit reviews and approves standard operating procedures, performs training and competency evaluations, performs appropriate proficiency testing, validates new equipment and processes, maintains appropriate records, performs appropriate lot release functions and implements changes required as appropriate for the internal audits. The position directs staff in managing OBI’s Non-Conforming Event, Adverse Event, Process Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative Action and Customer Complaint systems. This includes detecting, investigating, tracking, trending and reporting failures and progress with these systems. This position is responsible for leading, directing, supervising coaching and mentoring the Quality Systems staff.

HPC Medical Technologist (ASCP)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (ASCP) certified
  • Two or more years hospital lab or blood center experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details, self-motivated, exercise good judgment and possess the ability to work well with others

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for insuring that all processes and procedures are carried out in the HPC laboratory according to FDA, AABB, and FACT guidelines and regulations. Experience in technical writing of Standard Operating Procedures and performing the corresponding validations is required. This position will involve not only the technical aspects of HPC processing, but also the quality assurance and regulatory involvement needed to insure compliance. QA and regulatory oversight of the entire HPC program will be integrated with HPC collection’s Registered Nurses. Expansion into new areas of cell therapy activity/research will be pursued.

Therapeutic Apheresis Specialist, RN

Qualifications:

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license
  • Apheresis/phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Minimum one year clinical experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend, holiday and call responsibility
  • Ability to work with technical equipment

    possess the ability to work well with others

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform therapeutic apheresis procedures to include but not limited to plasma exchange, therapeutic cytapheresis, photopheresis, immunoabsorption therapy, red cell exchange and therapeutic and therapeutic phlebotomy. Documentation of procedure and patient response in hospital and OBI charts. Communication with OBI’s medical administration department, supervisor, attending physician, and hospital patient care staff regarding patient procedure. Perform and maintain equipment validation and documentation. Maintain adequate inventory levels. Perform special research projects as assigned. Perform training and mentoring responsibilities.

Mobile Phlebotomist

  • Flexibility to work unscheduled or long hours in response to a crisis or special blood need

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform quality control, medical screening, phlebotomy and record keeping duties associated with whole blood donations. Continually assess donors' needs including evaluating and treating reactions.
Donor Services Quality Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of internal and external inspections and assessments. Manage and review change control and impact analysis for collection processes. With department director, manage validation process for new technology, blood bags and collection supplies. Work with Training and Education to develop validation plans, as well as validating new and current SOPs as needed. Assist with and track PLAP product failures from the collection process. Assist management with error reduction and investigation, Develop quality reporting metrics and tracking and trending. Review all regulations and guidelines that are applicable to blood collections. Assist with annual SOP review. Perform other duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the VP this position will develop and execute recruitment programs that assure delivery of collections goals. The position will provide service excellence in promoting OBI programs to prospective apheresis donors as well as recruiting new donors. Develop strong working relationships with Contact Center management and Apheresis Development Coordinator.

Laboratory Technician

  • Must have full sight
  • Hearing impairment requiring a hearing aid(s) is acceptable

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform and record testing of donor and patient specimens to assure the quality and safety (non-infectivity) of the blood products produced at OBI in a timely and concise manner. Other duties as assigned.
